B'ArtThe former Bishkek Artists Union maintains an art center where artists, usually of the older generation, are active; the artists acquired the studio spaces in this art house against low costs during the privatization phase. To prevent a sale out of this art center and in order to realize a cultural center, Switserland has supported it for 5 years. Nevertheless, this support could not move the artists to show more initiative. For some time there are efforts by the art center to represent also the interests of young artists while creating space for contemporary and innovative Kyrgyz art at the same time. During this modernization B'Art, Bishkek Art, was founded, whose task it is to stimulate the cultural dialogue between artists from different nations.
